Attention, Members of Control Freak World Tour:
Go to reapermini.com, find the character model you want and I'll pay for it. Our upcoming 4E game will require figs, and I want to make sure you folks are hitting the table with the figs you want....

Saturday
Saturday brings the first new Dark Heresy game in a few weeks. We're at the Game Preserve; 4 pm to close. The Star Wars Minis crowd is in just before us, so there might be some intial crowding and/or gawking, noise and annoyance. I'm sure everything will be fine. Drinks at GP are a dollar. I'll make sure to bring some cash.

4E Races Compendium...
When the 4E game starts, I want a variety of races... more to the point, I want Catfolk in there.
Check this out: Catfolk

And Another Thing...
With the new exerpt up on Wizards.com this morning about Archons, it's clear the revamping of the default setting will make things seem completely alien to my players. This is cool. The power sources, reconceived cosmology and new rules will create a real sense of wonder for everyone.
I can't wait.

A New Begining for the Geeky
Long ago... like 23 years or so, I started playing Fantasy HERO using the setting in the FH book that HERO Games produced in 1985. I liked the start they gave me, names of countries, cities, rivers and such. I put my own spin on them and they became Caleon. I am. by no means finished with it, but I enjoyed "personalizing" the starter material. Dark Heresy also presents a back drop for players to start in, a lot more detail, I think than DnD4.0, but vague enough that I put my own stamp on it.
I plan to do the same with 4E. The art in Worlds & Monsters is quite compelling. It will form the basis of a new world for Dan and the guys to trash.

Almost-Free PHB
So, I've preordered the full Core Set for 4E. At $105, with the Triple Points Promotion that's 315 points at the Game Preserve. Jeffery is getting himself a PHB, and that's another 35 points. This totals 350 points. A PHB costs 370 points. So I'm going to get a second one for like $2.
Very nice. We'll be able to start with 3 PHB's. Or 2 and the Inquisitor's Handbook... I'm not sure. The IH is a very important book for Dark Heresy. Perhaps I'll have to rethink this.

Vicodin and DnD 4E
Last night, we played KotS, the first 4E adventure. I'm told it was fun and that I used all of my gamemasterly skills, and due to some unscheduled pain, vicodin.
I wish I could tell you more about the game, but I do not remember much of it. If there is one thing I do remember, it's that my players were very entertained. I seem to recall NPCs over-using certain phrases that I won't use here.

Keep on the Shadowfell this evening
I picked up Keep on the Shadowfell at Borders just now. Nice presentation, we'll see how it plays this evening. We are normally scheduled to play Dark Heresy on Sundays, but Dan's out sick... so we fill in, right?

JeffWTF? Jeff changes his Mind
While the headline to this first post is hardly newsworthy, I change my mind like some folks change socks. Here's the point of the post: Dungeons and Dragons 4E. I'm buying it. I'm playing it. No, I'm not selling my 3.5 stuff. We spent craploads of money on it, we enjoyed it. We will play it again. But I like the solid design of 4E and I think I can do a lot with the Core Background, revamped mechanics and so on.
The cover artist is Wayne Reynolds. I love this guy's stuff. I told him so 2 years ago at Gen Con.
The Core Rules drops on June 6th or something. I'm getting the whole set. It would be nice if someone bought a PHB to compliment my purchase. No arm twisting... if no one else gets one, then things become inconvenient later. I'll make sure to have 2 before we even think about playing it.
